Young & Rising
8–9 in 2025 · NFC South Champions · S³ Projection: 8–9
2025 Recap
Bryce Young showed real growth during the second half of the season, giving Carolina optimism entering 2026.
S³ Team Analysis
Respectable · Lacks Elite Firepower
Better weapons and an improved offensive line help, but the Panthers still lack the explosive playmakers needed to consistently beat top NFC contenders.
Attacked Its Biggest Weakness
Adding Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd dramatically changes the ceiling. Jaycee Horn and the secondary are already producing. If Phillips stays healthy, the pass rush could take a major leap.
Bryce Young — 2025
He's becoming a quality NFL starter, but he still needs to consistently produce explosive plays.
Running Game
Rico Dowdle departed after another 1,000-yard season. This should remain a respectable rushing attack, although losing Dowdle hurts.
Receiving Corps
Tetairoa McMillan immediately becomes WR1 after a 1,014-yard rookie season. Xavier Legette needs to take another step, and Jalen Coker is a reliable complementary receiver. Much more talented than last season.
Offensive Line
Major emphasis this offseason. The protection should improve for Bryce Young.
Defensive Core
The Panthers attacked their biggest weakness. Adding Phillips could dramatically improve the pass rush.
Coaching
Dave Canales deserves credit — Bryce Young's improvement isn't an accident. Keeping Ejiro Evero was also important after the defense improved late in 2025.
2026 Draft
Carolina continued investing around Bryce Young while adding depth to the defensive front.
NFC South Outlook
🏆 S³ Prediction
S³ Season Outlook
Carolina is a better football team than last season. Bryce Young is trending upward, the offensive line is stronger, and the defense added impact talent. However, the Panthers are still missing the elite playmakers needed to consistently beat the NFC's top contenders.
An 8–9 finish feels realistic. They should be competitive most weeks and remain in the NFC South race into December, but they'll likely fall just short of a playoff berth.
S³ Final Verdict
Carolina is heading in the right direction, but they're probably one more offseason away from becoming a legitimate playoff team.

S³ Schedule Notes
Early Week 5 bye is one of the earliest in the NFL.
Four of the first six games are against Chicago, Atlanta, Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Tampa Bay.
Late-season home games against Cincinnati, Seattle, and Atlanta could have major playoff implications.
Carolina faces the NFC North's Detroit, Green Bay, and Minnesota in three separate nationally watched matchups.
Baltimore and Cincinnati highlight a challenging AFC North draw.
A pretty balanced schedule overall, but the stretch from Week 10 through Week 13 stands out as the section most likely to define Carolina's season.
