Building the Harbaugh Era

4–13 in 2025 · Harbaugh In · Dart Year 2 · S³ Projection: 8–9

By Sweet Science Sports (S³)•2026 NFL Season

The Giants showed flashes offensively but struggled with consistency and fielded one of the NFL's worst run defenses. That led to a complete organizational reset centered on head coach John Harbaugh and quarterback Jaxson Dart.

S³ 2025 Team Review: Offense

The offense wasn't broken—it simply lacked explosive consistency. The running game was already a strength, while the passing attack was still developing around a rookie quarterback. Washington finished 17th in scoring (22.4 PPG), 13th in total offense, 5th in rushing, and 21st in passing.

Jaxson Dart — 2025 Rookie Season

Dart's rookie season was quietly encouraging. A 15:5 touchdown-to-interception ratio, mobility, and solid decision-making provide a strong foundation entering Year 2.

S³ 2025 Team Review: Defense

The defense was the team's biggest weakness. Despite Brian Burns' 16.5 sacks, the Giants consistently lost the battle in the trenches.

If Dart makes a significant Year 2 leap, New York could become one of the NFC's surprise teams. If his development stalls, the rebuild likely continues into 2027.

Building the Harbaugh Era

S³ Outlook

The Giants have shifted from simply accumulating talent to building a clear identity. John Harbaugh wants a physical, disciplined, run-first football team that wins with defense, special teams, and efficient quarterback play. The additions of Patrick Ricard, Francis Mauigoa, Tremaine Edmunds, and Isaiah Likely all support that vision.

This team should be better coached, tougher in the trenches, and more competitive than last year's 4–13 club. The biggest concern remains replacing Dexter Lawrence and fixing a defense that finished near the bottom of the league against the run.

🏆 S³ Prediction

Floor
6–11
Ceiling
10–7

The Giants aren't ready to challenge the NFC's elite yet, but they're headed in the right direction. Under John Harbaugh, 2026 should be remembered as the season New York established a new foundation for sustained success.

✅John Harbaugh brings accountability, discipline, and a championship culture
✅Jaxson Dart's rookie year was quietly encouraging — 15:5 TD:INT with mobility
✅Running game already ranked 5th — identity is established
✅Interior defensive line must replace Dexter Lawrence's production
S³ Projected Record
8–9

S³ Final Verdict

🏈 Under John Harbaugh, 2026 should be remembered as the season New York established a new foundation for sustained success. S³ projects 8–9.
