S³ BOXING | FIGHT RECAP
Filip Hrgović pulled off the upset, knocking out Moses Itauma in Round 9 after spending much of the fight behind on the S³ scorecard.
Itauma looked every bit like the dangerous young heavyweight early. He came out fast in Round 1 and dropped Hrgović just 40 seconds into Round 2. His speed, counterpunching and body attack allowed him to build a commanding lead.
But as the rounds accumulated, the fight changed.
THE TURNING POINT
Itauma had never fought beyond six rounds, and that lack of experience became increasingly important. By Round 6, he was showing fatigue. By Round 7, Itauma looked gassed, although Hrgović was tiring as well.
Itauma continued winning rounds through activity and late bursts. In Round 8, he attacked aggressively and appeared on the verge of possibly stopping Hrgović.
But he couldn't finish him.
Instead, Itauma burned valuable energy chasing the knockout. Hrgović survived, stayed composed and recognized that the younger fighter was vulnerable.
Then came Round 9.
Hrgović took advantage of Itauma's fatigue and aggression and scored the knockout, completing a dramatic comeback.

OFFICIAL RESULT: FILIP HRGOVIĆ KO9 MOSES ITAUMA
Itauma was winning the boxing match.
Hrgović survived long enough to win the fight.
For Itauma, the talent is obvious. But tonight exposed something power and speed couldn't answer: championship-round experience and conditioning.
For Hrgović, this was the definition of veteran resilience. He got dropped early, lost most of the rounds, weathered Itauma's biggest attacks and waited for his opportunity.
When that opportunity came, Hrgović finished the job.
