S³ Verdict — EA Sports College Football 27
Trial Review · Provisional Score
After spending time with the trial, S³ believes College Football 27 is a strong foundation for the future of the franchise. The gameplay is fluid, the presentation is outstanding, and Dynasty Mode offers meaningful improvements. Most importantly, the game is fun to play.
That said, the experience isn't without flaws. Microtransactions in offline modes remain the biggest concern, and several launch bugs interrupt immersion. One of the funniest examples is editing your coach only for him to suddenly appear on the sideline wearing a football helmet like he's ready to suit up at quarterback. 😂 Those types of issues are frustrating, but they're also the kind of bugs that can realistically be addressed through post-launch patches.
S³ Category Scores
Fluid and responsive — the on-field action is the strongest part of the package.
Outstanding broadcast-style presentation that captures the college atmosphere.
Meaningful improvements over previous entries; deep and engaging.
Underdeveloped and disappointing — the weakest mode in the game.
A pleasant surprise with genuine depth and replayability.
Player faces and likenesses are significantly improved.
Crowd noise, fight songs, and commentary deliver an authentic feel.
Microtransactions in offline modes remain the biggest concern.

Final Verdict
Worth playing, especially for college football fans. The foundation is excellent, but S³ will revisit the score after major updates to see whether bug fixes and gameplay improvements push the game into the 8/10 range.
Because this evaluation is based on the trial version, S³ is treating this as a provisional review rather than a final verdict. Future title updates could improve stability, fix gameplay bugs, and potentially raise the overall score.
