Kenneth Walker powers Kansas City past Denver
The Kansas City Chiefs overwhelmed the Denver Broncos with a dominant rushing attack and a defense that never allowed Bo Nix to establish a rhythm. Kansas City pulled away in the second half for a convincing 31–10 victory.
Kenneth Walker III was the centerpiece of the Chiefs’ offense, rushing for 173 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. His 60-yard touchdown run broke open a 14–7 game in the third quarter. Walker added three receptions for 18 yards, including a 2-yard touchdown that extended Kansas City’s lead to 31–10.
Patrick Mahomes completed 15 of 27 passes for 184 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also scored on a 15-yard scramble, giving him three total touchdowns.
Chiefs dominate the ground game
Kansas City rushed for 220 yards, compared with only 61 for Denver. The Chiefs finished with 392 total yards, averaged 5.9 yards per play and recorded 19 first downs.
The Broncos finished with just 176 total yards and converted only 2 of 12 third downs. Denver’s offense ran only 47 plays, while Kansas City controlled the game with 67.
Turnovers and pressure bury Denver
Nix completed 17 of 28 passes for 131 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He was sacked four times and lost a third-quarter fumble that Kansas City converted into its final touchdown.
Denver intercepted Mahomes in the third quarter but managed only a field goal after taking possession at the Kansas City 5-yard line. That missed opportunity summed up the game: the Broncos could not capitalize, while the Chiefs consistently turned favorable situations into points.
