Washington Wizards 95, Charlotte Hornets 79
Anthony Davis delivered a strong performance on both ends of the floor, finishing with 25 points and 13 rebounds as the Washington Wizards defeated the Charlotte Hornets 95-79.
Davis shot 44.4% from the field, adding one steal and one block while leading Washington to a 16-point victory.
Trae Young contributed 21 points, seven rebounds and nine assists, narrowly missing a double-double. Rookie AJ Dybantsa added 17 points and eight rebounds, giving Washington three players in double figures.
Charlotte's Offense Struggles
The Hornets had a difficult night offensively, shooting just 30% from the field, 21% from three-point range and 58% from the free-throw line.
Brandon Miller led Charlotte with 19 points and seven rebounds. Naz Reid recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Moussa Diabate added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite outrebounding Washington 55-53, recording more assists (22-18) and committing fewer turnovers (10-14), Charlotte couldn't overcome its poor shooting.
Washington wasn't particularly efficient either, connecting on 38% of its field-goal attempts. The difference came from better perimeter shooting and free-throw accuracy, with the Wizards shooting 33% from three and 83% from the line.
For Charlotte, the loss highlights an offense that struggled to convert opportunities even while competing effectively in several other statistical categories.
