Result: Deric “Scooter” Davis defeats Joaquín Silva Faccio by unanimous decision (80–72).
Deric “Scooter” Davis demonstrated why he is considered a promising young lightweight, dominating Joaquín Silva Faccio over eight rounds with punishing body shots, powerful right hands and superior boxing ability.
Davis won every round on the S³ scorecard, matching the official judges' shutout verdict. Despite the convincing victory, his performance revealed technical weaknesses that must be addressed before he challenges the elite fighters in the lightweight division.
The Right Hand Was Devastating
From the opening round, Davis established himself as the more talented fighter.
In the second round, he landed a vicious right hand that visibly stunned Faccio. The determined opponent responded with a right hand of his own, demonstrating that he had no intention of surrendering.
By the fourth round, Davis was repeatedly finding openings for his powerful right hand, including a particularly effective punch delivered around Faccio's guard.
Yet Davis allowed Faccio opportunities to recover after hurting him.
His patience was admirable at times, but there is a difference between fighting intelligently and allowing an injured opponent to regain his composure.
Faccio Refused to Back Down
Faccio deserves tremendous credit for his toughness.
He landed two quality uppercuts during the third round and displayed flashes of the unconventional movement and deceptive rhythm associated with former professional boxer Emanuel Augustus.
The fifth round was arguably Faccio's best. His unpredictable movements created opportunities, but Davis continued attacking the body and forcing him backward.
Faccio remained competitive during exchanges, yet Davis's cleaner punching and superior overall control separated the fighters.
The Body Attack Was Relentless
The final three rounds highlighted Davis's most impressive weapon: his body punching.
During the sixth round, Davis punished Faccio downstairs while connecting with several serious right hands. Both fighters exchanged punches, but Davis consistently landed the more effective blows.
The seventh round was particularly brutal.
Davis attacked Faccio's body with remarkable viciousness, delivering a sustained assault that raised questions about how much more punishment Faccio could absorb.
Somehow, Faccio survived.
Davis continued his offensive dominance in the eighth, combining powerful right hands with another punishing body attack.
Despite taking considerable punishment, Faccio remained game through the final bell.
S³ Technical Assessment: Where Was the Jab?
Davis has natural talent, punching power and an effective understanding of offensive positioning.
But his jab was noticeably underutilized.
Against Faccio, Davis possessed enough talent to overcome that deficiency. Against elite lightweight opposition, it could become a significant liability.
A more consistent jab would allow Davis to establish distance, disrupt an opponent's rhythm, create openings for his right hand and set up his devastating body punches.
Davis also needs to recognize opportunities to finish a wounded opponent. He doesn't need to abandon his defensive responsibility, but he must become more assertive when his punches have visibly affected an opponent.
Elite fighters do more than possess tremendous weapons. They understand when and how to use them.

S³ Final Verdict
Scooter Davis delivered a dominant performance against an incredibly durable opponent.
His power is legitimate. His body punching is exceptional, and his overall boxing ability was clearly superior.
But Davis is not yet a finished product.
He needs to develop a more consistent jab, improve his offensive activity and become more decisive when he hurts an opponent.
The tools to become an elite lightweight are there.
S³ Bottom Line: Davis won every round, but there is still plenty of room for improvement.
